About

Hi, I’m Matt, a computer scientist and economist by training, with experience in building distributed autonomous systems, machine learning, and blockchain. My current focus is on composable intelligence, computational democracy and the intersection of AI with human intelligence acceleration.

Techno Humanistic AI

I see the world as a composable knowledge space, where humans act as adaptive processors, continually learning, reorganizing, and evolving. From a thermodynamic lens, progress is the steady reduction of uncertainty through energy and information exchange. With the right tools and exposures, our capabilities sharpen over time, making humanity not only resilient and inventive, but perhaps soon a truly multi-planetary species.

AI, in this framing, is not a replacement for human intelligence but an extensor of it. A digital toolkit that expands our cognitive bandwidth, much like new memory or an added computational layer. Designed for ingenuity, it becomes a cognitive companion, amplifying strengths, surfacing hidden trajectories in our state space of possibilities, and navigating complex decisions paths.

The real value arises not from automation, but from composability, the interweaving of human judgment, empathy, and creativity with AI’s scale, memory, and computation. This synthesis enables a system more resilient than simple procedural intelligence, equipping us to model, explore, and construct futures aligned with our highest values.

Being Matt

I am lucky to be where I am today. I’ve lived on four continents and traveled to more than a hundred countries. Meeting people across cultures has reinforced my conviction that, at our core, humans are capable of great kindness, empathy, and generosity. To me, being human is one of the most extraordinary states of existence.

I’ve chosen to be a founder three times, often stepping into roles that don’t fit into the boxes of an engineer or economist . I learn best by doing and by following curiosity wherever it leads.

Though I’m sometimes seen as outgoing and high-energy, I’m actually more reserved and laid-back. These quiet strengths: curiosity, persistence, and patience help me stay with challenges, keep learning, and find my own way forward. If I ask questions, it’s never to fill space; it’s because I’m genuinely interested.
